Skinfield is an AI-powered cosmetic analysis service designed to provide insights into skin characteristics and general skincare guidance. It is not a medical device, not a medical app, and is not intended for diagnosing, treating, curing, or preventing any medical condition.
Skinfield offers insights based on visual analysis and AI processing, but these insights are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult with a dermatologist or licensed healthcare professional before making any health-related decisions or treating skin conditions.
Everything Skinfield produces — your readings, scores, trends, concerns, routine and product verdicts — is cosmetic and informational, and should not be used for self-diagnosis or to treat a medical condition.
Skinfield uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to analyze photographs of your face and generate cosmetic insights. Our analysis focuses on visible skin characteristics such as oiliness, texture, and general appearance to provide skincare guidance.
The insights it generates come from visual metrics and machine learning models, not from clinical diagnosis or medical testing. You decide whether and how to act on anything the Service tells you, including whether to buy, keep or stop using any product.
Each kit contains two single-use adhesive skin-analysis patches, each one an "Analyzer". One is worn on the forehead, or T-Zone, and the other on the cheek, or U-Zone.
You take three photographs of your face, from the right, front and left, while the T-Zone Analyzer is still in place.
The color-reference palette printed on the outward-facing side of that Analyzer is what calibrates the photographs, so a reading does not shift with your lighting or your phone.
After removal you photograph both Analyzers together, and their used surfaces are measured as well.
Your age, sensitivities and treatments, the environmental conditions for your area, and your previous analysis are combined with those measurements so the readings are interpreted against you rather than against an average.
Because every analysis is calibrated the same way, two analyses taken weeks apart can be compared. That comparison is what the trend on your history is built from.

A few things are yours to do, and the analysis is only as good as they are:
Keep your sensitivities, treatments and life stage current in the app. They are the safety gate in front of your routine and every product verdict, and the Service cannot account for what it has not been told.
Follow the instructions in the app and on the packaging, and use each Analyzer once, only on its designated area.
Stop using any product, Analyzer or routine step if you experience irritation, a reaction or discomfort, and seek appropriate professional advice.
